Endry Rovaz’s “Unworthy” Screens at the Coconut Grove Film Festival 2025
Miami, FL – The award-winning short film “Unworthy” (originally “Indignos”), directed by Endry Rovaz, continued its successful festival run with a special screening at Cinépolis during the Coconut Grove Film Festival 2025, sponsored by UTH Florida University and the Voices Beyond Borders Foundation. The festival also featured a special appearance by Oscar and Emmy-winning director David Frankel.
On January 18, 2025, following the screening, Endry Rovaz participated in a Q&A panel alongside American filmmaker Justin Barber, who presented his NASA documentary "Space Coast", exploring the launch of the Artemis-1 rocket. During the discussion, Rovaz shared insights into the cinematic approach, narrative structure, and character development of “Unworthy”, as well as its exploration of social inequality and power dynamics.
“Unworthy” began its U.S. festival circuit on August 30, 2024, earning over 12 nominations across six major festivals, including events in Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Miami, and Orlando. The film has already secured eight awards, including Best Dramatic Short, Best International Short, Best Cinematography, Best Story, and Best Original Score. The film’s soundtrack features an original score by Grammy-winning composer Raniero Palm, alongside pianist Gabriel Lococo, tenor Sergio Canache, and producer Barrera.
“Your financial status does not define your cultural worth. Many underprivileged individuals possess extraordinary talents and go on to shape society,” said Endry Rovaz during the panel discussion.
Filmed entirely in Venezuela under the production of Astral Films, “Unworthy” is now preparing for its next wave of festival appearances in Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
